Prosecution’s case/defense response: Richardson beat to death Estelle Feldman (age 91), and her grandson Steven Folker (age 43) with a claw hammer. Richardson beat them during a robbery. Richardson spoke at his own sentencing and apologized for his actions. The defense argued that the testimony that was used to convict Richardson was not sufficiently corroborated by physical evidence and that he should not have been found guilty.
