Prosecution’s case/defense response: Drucker entered Robertson’s home under false pretenses and shot him. Nikolova screamed, and he shot her as well. The prosecution painted the scene as an ambush and robbery aiming to feed his meth addiction. The defense claimed the Robertson killing was revenge for his dealing drugs to his sister who overdosed, and the shot at Nikolova was an accident. The incident came at a hard time for the Drucker family as his infant nephew had died and his sister confined to a wheelchair. The defense also tried to highlight Drucker’s Christian faith and ministry from within prison.
