Prosecution’s case/defense response: Bosse murder his girlfriend, Katrina Griffin (age 24), her son Christian (age 8) and her daughter Chasity (age 6). Katrina and her son were stabbed multiple times before their home was set on fire. Chasity was put in a closet with a chair wedged under the doorknob to prevent escape. She died from smoke inhalation and burns. Bosse escaped from jail by overpowering two detention officers and stealing a car that belonged to them. However, he was recaptured shortly thereafter. The aggravating factors cited by the prosecution included that the crime involved a great risk of death involving more than one person, that the murders were especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel, and that Bosse committed the murders to avoid lawful arrest or prosecution.
